Drip

Optical Objects Exhibition | Jan 23

An installation created for the Optical Objects Exhibition held in Arnhem's Eusebius church. The piece centers around a 25-liter water lens combined with melting ice viewed through polarized light, which reveals the changing stress patterns in the ice during melting. As the ice melts, water droplets fall onto an amplified metal pan, generating an evolving soundscape.

The concept originated from my research on developing quick and inexpensive lenses using plastic and water, and was then realized and further expanded through collaboration with Flore Wormskamp, Harry Condron, and Robin Opheij.
